VMCC to sponsor Junior Trial Riders

The VMCC IOM Section have agreed to pay the fee for any junior rider who wants to ride in our VMCC IOM Trials events, this year. It does not matter what class or route, the entry fee will be covered by the club.

Rules

The trials are run under the ACU using the non-stop trial rules.  There are two routes, A (hard) and B (easy).  You enter one of two classes, VMCC members or as a guest (Invitation) and follow one of the routes.  Each event normally consists of eight sections with four laps.  The rider with the lowest points wins, if equal the rider with the most cleans wins, then the most 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, 5’s, if still equal the rider who travelled the furthest with the least marks, wins. 

All riders must have an ACU licence and VMCC members may be required to show their membership cards.

Eligibility Rules for riding the VMCC A and VMCC B Routes

To ride in either of the VMCC A or B Routes for an individual trial, riders must:

1. Be VMCC members and show their membership card at the event.
2. Ride a bike that meets the VMCC criteria (25 years old)

Riders that do not meet both criteria will have their results recorded in the Invitation route.  This will be recorded in the Championship results.

The Championship

For each trial, Championship points are awarded as follows: 1^st 20, 2^nd 17, 3^rd 15, then 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and then 0.

To count in the Championship, riders must complete at least two events from the same class\route and their scores are totalled up over the season.

All events count towards the Championship (except The Geoff Cannell Memorial and Handicap trials) and riders do not count their worst result.

Winners of the VMCC Route B and Invitation Route B Championships

The rider who wins either of the Route B Championships must either:

1. Ride the A route for at least the next Two years
2. If they stay riding the B route they will be in the results for each event, but will not score Championship points for the next Two years.
